The end of an era!... I remember you and Mr Woodford from practically my first day in UH. Many a good chat/moan has been shared over beers or chance meetings in the corridor. I'm hoping our paths will cross at some random gig or another in the not too distant future, but I sincerely hope you can enjoy life after TLS whatever you are doing!
Dear Ian, Counting on my wizened fingers I realize that we have been colleagues and friends for 27 years! How time has flown by...like a Jerry Garcia guitar solo! It was always a pleasure to meet with you and laugh about life's absurdities, especially at Credit Suisse. I also miss our evening training rides...followed by a 'recovery drink' at the bar. All the very best for your retirement, and I am sure you will enjoy it to the full! Keep in touch, and if you ever stuck for a companion for a cycle ride you can call me any time. Best wishes and a fond farewell, Matthew.
All the very best for your new innings Ian It is hard to imagine TLS without you. I hope you will no longer get fussed about the entity_eod_date being wrong :) Best of luck and enjoy your biking adventures
Forever trust in who you are, and nothing else matters
You were one of my very first colleagues when I started working in Switzerland all those years ago. I joined at a tumultuous time in TLS, but no matter how stressed everyone else seemed to get, you seemed to take it all in your stride, as you'd seen it all before. I don't know how many times we heard people talking about switching off TLS, but it's still alive and kicking! I can't really imagine TLS without Ian, it doesn't quite compute in my head!
Thanks for bringing some normality to the crazy banking world, your stories and advice will be sorely missed.
Hi Ian, I wish you all the best in whatever challenges and adventures you find yourself tackling in the years ahead. The ITO role has been a good preparation for many of them I'm sure (or I hope anyway :-).
Unfortunately, I have to miss the party on Friday, but perhaps we catch up in the Finbar in the months ahead. Take it easy out there in the great big world of 'new life-work balance'. -John

Congratulations on escaping from UH! But beware - there are many traps to lure unsuspecting retirees to come back and keep working!
Enjoy retirement, and I look forward to seeing you at many a "Team Prog" gig in the future.
Cheers
